Fortunately most of Elisabeth’s early travel writing is hidden away in hand-written diaries which will hopefully never get out of the bottom drawer. If the Internet has proved one thing in the field of travel writing: really no one cares what you had for dinner or how the cab driver over-charged you.

Elisabeth believes one of the good keys of good travel writing is remembering that travel writing is about the reader not the author. The fact that you had a bad day at the beach in Rio doesn’t mean the reader will, and you need to be able to explain why or why not. Elisabeth thinks that she is great at keeping the reader central in her writing at all times.

Elisabeth can’t claim to have been to every country on the globe but her tally to date is reasonably impressive. Elisabeth has lived in New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Canada and the UK. She has travelled extensively throughout the the UK and Europe, India and Nepal, South East Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

She still has a to do list for travelling so Elisabeth is very interested in hearing from anyone who would like to assist with expenses for a trip to Antarctica or the inner solar system.
